Is this the best formula for a 100-year-old threshold? ... The CS rep has said this isn't good for foot traffic. I can't find a better choice in the brand line. Glossy black finish is a must. Should I use a different formula? Apply many, many coats? Sand and apply oil-based polyurethane over it? Turn toward a different brand? The threshold needs to last another 100 years.

Can this be used on exterior stair steps and how long does it take to fully cure? We painted the steps 2 days ago (mid 70's, low humidity) on top of existing black paint/coating, and our fingers pick up a silver sheen when rubbing on surface. It looks great but are now concerned about scuffing when walked on with shoes...

I did not have that problem, perhaps it was too humid to paint. Did you allow it to dry thoroughly before walking on the steps.
