I have a large sink in the laundry room that is rusted. Is it necessary to sand this first before using this product, or can I use a roller only?
Asked by: Jackie
I re-glaze bathtubs and tile as well as sinks. Yes if there is any rust it must be sanded down and try to remove the stain by sanding until it is almost not visible. Thoroughly clean all areas with a abrasive cleaner then rinse with water to get the grit off of the surface. Then roll on 2 -3 smooth coats waiting 1 hour in between coats. This is the best product on the market as far as what you can buy from a hardware store .

is the finish smooth?

is the finish smooth?
Asked by: mike
I sprayed mine on and it came out very smooth. I am guessing it will "flow" well if brushed on and the resulting finish will also be smooth. Mine has been on six months and im very happy with the result. Do not do any shortcuts on the prep work and you should be happy with the result.

Will this kit cover the whole one piece shower/tub enclosure? Or do I need to buy 2 kits? Does everything come in the kit, or what else do I need to buy?
Asked by: bunnyjo4
Judging by how much it took to cover just the faux marble panels in my hall bathroom, I have bought 2 kits to do the shower in my master bathroom because it's almost the size of the tub and walls in the hall. Things I learned from my first time using this product: Preparation is key-don't skip any part. Remove the fixtures and tape off pipes and walls, shower doors (remove if you can). I have completely removed the shower door because I planned to replace it anyway. Check the box for the right kind of roller and brushes! (I had a small foam roller I thought would give a nice smooth surface-it stretched and it was just nasty) Make sure you have good ventilation and wear a mask! I'm waiting for a time when I can have the doors and windows open for at least 3 days. It will take at least 3 days before you can stand to be in that bathroom. Remove all caulking because nothing sticks to silicone caulking and you're going to recaulk anyway. If you spill any paint, wipe off immediately. Rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth or even paper towels will remove what's left. Will it look like a brand new shower, no. But it's going to look almost as good at a much better price! And it will allow you to keep using your shower while you save the money for your dream bathroom!
