Q:Can I use the high heat spray on my bathroom light fixture?
by|Jan 31, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out, Saundra. Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray Paint can be applied to metal surfaces that will reach up to 1200° F. If the surface will not exceed 500° F it will not need to be heat cured, the paint will fully cure after 24 hours. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

Q:Can it be used on the cooking grates with no effect on the food while cooking on it?
    by|Jan 28, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out, Joseph. While Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray Paint can withstand temperatures up to 1200° F, it can not be exposed to direct heat or flame. This will cause the paint to blister and peel. Please also note this is not a food safe product, and we do not recommend applying to surfaces that will come in contact with food. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

Q:I plan on useing this paint on the stack of my wood burning stove. Can the paint be cured for more than 1 hour at or above 450
      by|Jan 13, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  We're happy to help, Mark. Heating the surface to 450° F for longer than an hour after applying Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray Paint can help ensure the finish has fully cured. We do not recommend heating the surface significantly over 450° F as this can hinder the curing process and lead to a sticky finish. Please also note, this paint can not be exposed to direct flame, exposure to direct flame will cause the finish to blister and peel. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

            Not black paint
I dont know if the paint is good yet but the color is not black. It more of a dark grey. I bought two cans and bot were the same. I called Rust-Oleum and they said each can was made at a different factory. So this is not a defect. They refunded my money.

I wanted to tile my fireplace surround on black. Kept waiting for black tiles to arrive but delivery was lost. Then while waiting for the next tile delivery, I decided to try using high heat spray paint just to see if the black tiles would even look good. Well. It worked SO WELL that I spray painted the whole fireplace surround since the next two tile shipments arrived broken. Looks beautiful.

Nice Paint To Refurbish Outdoor Grills!
This paint is good so far when refurbishing my outdoor grill and firepit. I used my grill once to burn some limbs that fell after a storm and the factory paint peeled and cracked throughout the grill. So I looked around to find some paint to preserve the fire pit itself. This worked well so far!

                Not bad just Flat Black
Nothing wrong with this paint, i bought it to re-paint the outside of a Pizza Oven, this "paint" is rated for high heat, however at $7 can i found my $2.49 can Regular Flat Black to be the exact same product, They had another Gloss Black next to this one for $12 can, glad i did, read below. $2.49 can fine, Buy regular flat black on HD bottom shelf, use extra money for hot dogs on the way out. P.S. the hot dogs don't seem smaller than the Jumbo dogs. Follow me for more recipes.

Our Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray is a modified silicone resin, and while it may appear similar to regular spray paint, it is very different. This coating must be heated above 450°F for one hour to fully cure, after which it will tolerate surface temperatures up to 1,200°F. Our Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel will tolerate surface temperatures up to 200°F for comparison. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum
