If the door manufacturer recommends painting with an alkyd enamel paint, Stops Rust can be used since is it an alkyd paint. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

          I'm renovating my motorhome and needed some Rust-oleum counter top paint, for the lavatory, which the closest HD did not have. I decided to try the rust-oleum protective enamel, which should do just as well. The gloss almond was the color I chose. The product is very thick so I poured some in a tin can. I painted around the wall edge with a craft paint brush and poured the paint on the counter and rolled it with a 4 inch sponge roller. I administered a second coat and I'm really pleased with the look.
