Initially I was surprised by the power this nail gun has. Then my awe became disgust as it wouldn't fire after a short amount of use. The spot light came on but no longer fired. I packed it up and returned it for a replacement. After I Returned home and unpacked the new 1 to my disgust this 1 sounded as if it wanted to fire but wouldn't. Back in the box and back to the store. I had another nail gun in mind but this Home Depot didn't carry this 1 but could order it for me. My only other option was far beyond the price that I was willing to pay not to mention the price for the battery and charger which weren't included. Long story short, I was literally stuck getting another Ryobi pin nailer. Here's hoping this 1 lasts longer than the first 2.

Being a carpenter, I got the pin nailer for those small jobs that you just don't want to get out the air compressor & air hose. The nailer made quick work of the job & now hassle. But as a carpenter of 19 years I would not say this tool would prompt me to get rid of my air compressor & air nailers. This pin nailer how ever is great for small jobs, as well if you need a nailer where you can't use the air nailer. The gun did do everything I needed to do with it, unlike other battery nailers I have used before. It had no problem setting any size pin I used. Nailer is easy to use & would be great for any DIY project. All in all great nailer.

Very handy to have cordless nailers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home run! Honestly I’ve only used it once but I’m sold. As a carpenter I have both Dewalt 20/60v and Milwaukee M12 platforms with a few random Ryobi tools to fill in the gaps. Cordless random orbit sander, trim router and 18 guage brad nailer and now this 23 guage pin nailer. It’s fairly compact and feels decent in your hand. I wish it had a place to store the stop guide which is a nice feature but will eventually get lost. The best part is the almost non existent hole it leaves. My pneumatic pin nailer is a Grex 650 and the Ryobi is very close. I don’t know how it will last over the long haul, my other Ryobi tools are fine but I’m also not hard on my tools. For the occasional punch list items it’s a home run!

With how far the technology has come in cordless nailers, other than blowing stuff off, I never turn my air compressor on anymore. The need for an air compressor in the shop is drifting away. This is a lightweight tool that has plenty of power to drive pin nails into all different types of wood. Several other battery nailers I have used in the past have a significant delay from when the trigger is pulled to when the nail shoots out but I didn't notice a delay at all with this. With the LED light and edge guide it is super easy to see where you are nailing and to get the nail in the right spot every time.

But everything I had read about this nailer tempted me to buy. It checks out as a very legit pin nailer. It seems to just place the pin in the material without hesitation Everytime . This was very easy to use with the expected minor awkwardness of the double trigger which I expected since my air powered Pinney also has a similar setup. It worked fine with mdf, pine and oak.
