Can this be used for garden paths? From the picture, the stones look a bit rounded, so I don't know if they would pack down very well.
Asked by: Digger
Yes it is perfect for garden paths. It is pea gravel. That means it is small rounded pebbles, that are various earth tones, NOT cut gravel that is sharp and often pointed and grey.

area 87sqf how many bags needed
Asked by: cirne
It depends on how deep you want it. This bag is .6 cubic feet. You could spread it 3 inches deep and get a 2' X 1' area covered. So at 3 inches deep you would need 43.5 bags.

area 10x5x3" depth how many bags would be needed
Asked by: angus
One bag will cover approximately 7.2 square feet to a depth of 1". To calculate the volume needed for a given area, divide the total area (in square feet) by 7.2, then multiply this result by the depth you want in inches. Example: a 10' x 5' area filled to a depth of 3" would be calculated as ((10 x 5) / 7.2) * 3 = 20.833 bags of gravel. Round up and/or add an extra bag for a margin of safety.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected. I used this gravel as a base for red scalloped edging. Some of the gravel is showing and is actually a beautiful mix. Too pretty to just be used under something. I placed them strategically in other awkward places to stop mulch from escaping a v shaped down slope. The colors and shape of the rocks look nice. They lock together and tuck in corners and turns. It looks good.

It settles pretty easily and provides drainage. They also dont look too bad, so I used them for landscaping around my shed ramp where the footings are.

The all purpose gravel shown in the picture is good it looks like 1/2" to 3/4" stones. the gravel I received with my order was pea gravel size. Other than that I still used it to mix in with larger gravel I had to purchase at HAD for my retaining wall blocks.
