Not what was promised
I was excited to receive this window well and install it. I specifically ordered the 400lb. universal fit cover because I weigh about 250 lbs. and wanted a cover that would hold my weight plus some if I was carrying my son and accidentally stepped on the cover. This would give me peace of mind knowing it would support my weight in the event of an accident. When I recieved the cover the box clearly stated that it only supports 250lbs. I am waiting to hear back from the company and home depot to see if they made a mistake or if the product is advertised incorrectly. The cover also arrived about a week after it was supposed to be delivered. Expect some additional lag time if you decide to order this product.

Worth the extra money
Very clear, heavy duty cover works as advertised. Love the 7 year warranty. Note on the clips, at first they seem too large to clamp down on the walls of the window well but when you start fastening them to the cover, they close up under tension and work great. They probably won't keep the cover in place with severe 35 mph+ winds which is why I installed an additional latch on the underside.

Good Product
The window cover is basically what I expected. As you can see from the photo I have a fairly unique situation as my concrete is flush with my window well. Unfortunately, for this reason, I wasn't able to clip them down as is recommended in the installation instructions. However, with them simply placed over the window well they easily support my weight - 185 lbs. They are a bit lighter weight than I expected so I'll likely have issues with the strong winds that I get in my area since they aren't properly clipped to the window well... Overall, I'm satisfied for the price.

Keeps the leaves out
All of the window wells on the house we recently moved into had window well covers except the egress window. This cover was purchased for that one, which measured 51" x 37" and the widest and deepest points. The cover fits very well and sits flush on the surrounding pavers so I did not bother with the included metal clips, yet it survived a recent bout of high winds with no issues. While I haven't tested its strength, it is several times thicker than the cheap covers on the smaller window wells.
