I Love it!
We had our first real snow since i bought and installed it. It worked like a champ. It worked okay on gravel with the metal blades, but they dont really market it for gravel. It worked excellent on paved roads with the optional UHMW plastic blade shown in my picture. Although plastic, because of the type it is, it is quite durable with no noticeable wear after making several passes over a long stretch of paved roadway. I have most everything permanently mounted under the hood regarding controls, but did not want to route the hardwire controller through the firewall. I used the remote control instead and it was awesome. I may set my tractor up to use the plow too and can use the hardwire controller on it. This thing is quite a bit heavy and can be challenging to install/remove, especially if you are like me and don’t have a paved slab on which to store it, but I managed and so will you! Great value!

I've had this snowplow for about 1 month and 1 snow event so far. I have a 50+ yard long asphalt drive that took me between 1-2+ hours (depending on snow depth) to clear with a 28" 2-stage snow blower. With this plow, it takes me 20-30 minutes. For the price, this is an excellent snowplow for non-commercial use that allows you to raise and lower the blade from inside the cab via wireless remote. It would be nice to also have the ability to change the blade angle from inside the cab, however for the price and my requirements, that was a feature I could live without and I can easily change the blade angle manually from outside the vehicle when necessary. FYI, Snowbear does offer a fully hydraulic version of this plow which lifts/lowers/changes blade angle from inside the vehicle, but the price is significantly more and it requires a 2-point mount which wasn't compatible with my vehicle. This snowplow is mounted on my 2014 Ford Expedition 4x4 using a Curt front receiver hitch (also purchased from HD). Attaching the assembled blade to the vehicle is a simple task - just drive up to the blade to align the front receiver to the blade hitch (I did install the optional castor wheel set on the snowplow), push the blade hitch into the receiver, install the hitch pin, connect the electric wiring, and you're ready to plow. A second person to "spot" for me and direct me left/right to align the receiver hitch on the vehicle with the snowplow's hitch speeds up the process significantly. Assembly was straight forward and took me about 3 1/2 hours total to accomplish. I did receive a defective part in my shipment and when I contacted Snowbear about it (they include a phone number with their installation literature), they immediately sent a replacement. The electric connections are straight-forward - I spent more time determining the best location to mount the control module in the engine compartment and where to route the wiring harness to the front of the vehicle than it took me to do the actual wiring. Some things to keep in mind when purchasing this snowplow. This model ships via freight truck in 3 separate cartons strapped to a pallet and weighing about 400 pounds altogether. Keep that in mind when determining where to have it delivered. I had mine shipped to my local HD so I didn't need to be home to accept delivery from the trucking company. When I arrived at the HD to receive my shipment, I had the help of their staff to un-palletize the 3 cartons to load them into my vehicle. Also, there are plenty of YouTube videos to serve as a tutorial on snowplowing. If you have never operated a vehicle with a snowplow, it would be worth your time to watch a few of these to educate yourself on snowplowing and decrease the "learning curve" and avoid unnecessary mistakes while plowing. All things considered, this snowplow appears well made and for the price and features, it satisfies my requirements for a "personal" snowplow.

The plow was easy to assemble and will serve my well as I have a 450 foot long driveway as well as a large yard to clean up. Everything functions as expected, the instructions were OK but the videos on line helped clarify some steps.

      GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
I purchased this plow and it worked great for 1 winter. This winter didn't even make it to the first snow storm. Attached it and the plow worked until the snow fell and then when I went to let the plow down it made a clicking noise. Bought a new control box for the solenoid, installed it worked for 2 days and back to the same issue.

I was able to assemble and mount the plow in about 6 hours without any assistance in a 25°F garage. There were a few typos in the instructions. And the included hardware didn't match the hardware list exactly. But the only thing I had to add were two 1/4" washers. For the cost I think it works very

Very happy with purchasing this plow. Seems heavy duty enough to do the job. Set up was fairly straightforward but I had to substitute some of the bolts with longer ones to get them to lock in the nylon nuts. Would recommend to a friend.

The plow was easy to assemble and it has been excellent in clearing the snow in our driveways. The feature we like is the remote that can raise and lower the plow from inside the truck cab. We have had the plow for about a month and had to wait for recent snow storms to use it and it worked great. The price was right for our snow requirements as well and we got it when it was on sale. The plow has meet our expectations and we live in a state that gets a lot of snow. Sorry we had already used the plow and had not known about photo op until filling out the review. Would still like to be consider in the contest.

My 3 star rating is an average of 4 stars for function and 1 star for the horrible assembly instructions. I got the 88 in blade with the actuator assembly for raising and lowering the blade. The problems with the instructions were: 1. They cover 5 different blade sizes and 2 different mechanical functions with one parts list. The parts themselves are not numbered or labeled. Not all of them are used depending on which blade lifting mechanism you get. Some of the parts listed for the 88 inch blade were flat out wrong (i.e. 2-piece blade stiffener in parts list was only 1 piece in reality). 2. The basic assembly is for the winch application and they refer to a separate page for the actuator assembly. In fact you need to refer to both sections otherwise steps will be skipped. 3. When attaching the blade to the lifting mechanism there are three pins that have to be inserted through the frame and the blade. Two went in fairly easily but the third didn't line up - the welded socket was off by 1/8th inch. I had to drill out the hole to get it installed. 4. This is partly my fault because I laid the 2 halves of the blade face down and didn't look at the front, but nowhere does it state that the left and right halves of the blade are NOT interchangeable. It wasn't until I had them assembled and tried to line up other parts that I found I had them reversed. On the other hand, it worked great once it was assembled.

          Instructions less than helpful
Thank goodness I have some mechanical abilities to put this together. The instructions are for all the different sizes and configurations they offer and had me flipping back and forth to put it together. All the parts come in different packages and had me guessing at times what to use. My blade came slightly bent and after having loosening all the bolts up, with the wife and kid standing on it, I finally got it all hooked up. I haven't had the chance to use it yet since buying it has proved the best snow deterrent even beating out the snow "go away" dances. It is a beast though and should prove worthy of the purchase.

Before purchasing, I read reviews saying it was difficult to assemble. I thought it couldn't be that bad. It turned out to be worse. Holes didn't line up Ended up loosening all bolts to assemble, then tighten. Once on my vehicle, If I adjusted the angle of the blade left or right, one corner of the blade would dig into the ground. REALLY regret buying this blade.

I was very disappointed with the product. For starters the custom mount kit for my ford expedition was not complete/correct even though I had talked to someone earlier and gave my exact vehicle year and make. When i built the plow I had purchase the 84" which the plow comes in 2 pieces custom mount kit and needs to be assembled, which was fine. This unit also come with the hydraulic lift and chain. The second problem is that many screw were the wrong size or did not come with the kit. So i continues by sharing screws from other area knowing i would have to call and get the correct screws plus the mount kit. Towards the end of the build I found that the actuator that came with the unit also had the wrong size screws and with this unit the manual side to side handle kit could not be installed because of the hydraulic kit, it doesn't look like there is any way to install the side to side shift handle to release the pin so that the plow can be adjusted left/right and the install manual doesn't even talk about how to install the side to side shift handles with a hydraulic lift. The YouTube video doesn't goes through the install either. At this point I gave up and disassembled to plow and returned. Very frustrating experience. I have bought and built many items in my life time and yes I have run into problems but nothing like this.

The directions SUCK. Look up how to put it together on YouTube. You will have extra parts when you get done. They go nowhere. I have no idea why they were sent except to scare you that you missed something. I haven't gotten to use it yet because it hasn't snowed yet, but it installs to vehicle pretty easily by just me. I put it together by myself too. DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS CONNECTING 2 BLADE PIECES TOGETHER UNTIL YOU ATTACH THE 3 ARM RODS TO THE BLADE. You will never get the arm rods installed otherwise. Once it is put together it looks to be very sturdy, but it is pretty tough to put together and I am normally good at such things. The best price for a snow plow with all of these features. I love the wireless remote control. Easy to pivot the blade with one hand. Can't wait to try it out.

The snow plow is very good (I owned a SnowBear for 10 years on my old truck that I sold with the truck), however, the new plow has some very poor assembly instructions. They include misleading, confusing and plain wrong directions. The plow also included all the required parts, but the hardware (nuts, bolts, pins, etc.) was pretty iffy. They sent a large (important) bolt with a course thread and a fine thread nut. Several required bolts were missing (I needed several 2 1/2" bolts; they supplied lots of 1 1/2" ones). I had to make several trips to the hardware store for about $10 to complete assembly. In the end, I had to dis-assemble the plow to make it fit my truck because I followed the instructions that came with the plow; I learned on a YouTube video online that I should have done something different to make the plow fit my (2016) truck properly! I called the SnowBear company in Canada. They were very helpful, but they did admit that the instructions for the current plows ((the plow blade now comes in two pieces, etc.) are misleading or wrong and they are being re-done (nice to tell me after assembling a 250 lb. plow)! To compensate for my trouble, they sent me a pair of caster wheels, which was nice, but they did not fit. When I called and informed them of that (and sent pictures), they said they saw the problem (and agreed it was their problem) and they would talk with engineering to see what needed to be done. I hope it will fix the problem. In the end, I like the plow, although I haven't plowed any snow yet., but the company clearly needs to address their instruction manual and parts control if they expect DIY'ers to assemble these plows (and stay in business.)
