Q:What is the lowest temperature this gardenia can tolerate
by|Jun 23, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The Jubilation Gardenia can tolerate temperatures down to around 0-10°F (-12°C). However, it is not advisable to test the limits of its cold hardiness, as exposure to extreme cold can damage the plant. For best results, it should be grown in USDA zones 7-10 and protect this Gardenia in times of severe frost.

Q:Does my Jubilation gardiana need to be 'deadheaded'.
    by|May 23, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Yes, deadheading your Jubilation Gardenia can encourage more blooms and maintain the plant's appearance. To deadhead, remove spent flowers by cutting just below the faded blooms. This prevents the plant from putting energy into seed production and promotes new flower growth. Additionally, ensure your gardenia receives adequate sunlight (at least 4-6 hours of indirect light), consistent watering to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and acidic, well-draining soil. Regular feeding with a fertilizer formulated for acid-loving plants in the growing season will also help keep your Jubilation Gardenia healthy and blooming.

Q:These plants seem to be doing great and all four pots… Nothing changed watering plan weather…. Now the flowers are all yellow? Are these pretty much doomed? This is the second purchase of these I thought they were supposed to be easy for zone 7?
      by|May 12, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  The transition of white blooms to yellow before browning and falling off over time is a natural process for Jubilation Gardenias. It's a common occurrence and not necessarily a sign of doom for the plants. However, if the entire plant seems healthy otherwise, including foliage and overall growth, it's likely just a normal part of the gardenia's blooming cycle. Ensure the plants continue to receive proper care, including adequate watering, fertilization, and soil acidity levels. If you're concerned about other factors affecting the plant's health, such as pests or diseases, it may be worth investigating further. But in most cases, the yellowing of blooms is a temporary phase, and the gardenias should continue to thrive in Zone 7 with proper care.

Q:Can Jubilation Gardenia shrubs be trimmed to maintain a 2' height? Can I use a hedge trimmer or does it need to be done by hand clippers? Thank you.
        by|May 8, 2024
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Jubilation Gardenia shrubs can be trimmed to maintain a 2-foot height, but it's essential to prune them carefully to avoid damaging the plant and compromising its health. Hand clippers are generally recommended for precision pruning, allowing you to selectively trim branches and maintain the shrub's natural shape. Using a hedge trimmer may result in a more uniform but less precise cut, which can lead to a less attractive appearance and potentially encourage disease or pest infestations. When trimming Jubilation Gardenias, aim to remove no more than one-third of the plant's growth at a time and avoid cutting into old wood. With proper pruning techniques and care, you can keep your Jubilation Gardenia shrubs at a manageable height while preserving their health and beauty.

            Died a year later
Both bushes had lots of greenery but I would only see 1-2 flowers at a time then they would die after a couple days and they weren't very fragrant. Then out of no where at the beginning of June 2024 they started to die and one is completely brown and dead now!

Full, but not a great shape… It’s narrow yet wide. The soil it’s in isn’t terrific and dries out quickly. It came with one blossom, so that’s promising!

The leaves started turning yellow and dry
I recently purchased and was so excited to add a touch of elegance to my garden. However, within just a month of purchasing it, I noticed that the plant began to deteriorate rapidly. The leaves started turning yellow and dry, eventually falling off. Despite my efforts to provide proper care and attention, including sufficient watering and sunlight, the plant continued to decline. I was disappointed with the quality of the plant and the lack of longevity it displayed.

This is the most beautiful bush I have ever planted. It shipped within day. My New Gardenia bush was delicately shipped and I received it just as Nicky. It’s already started to bloom beautifully. It smells amazing. I highly recommend getting a couple of this plant. I got two of them. One for each side of the garden in the front yard. My neighbors compliment me on them all the time.

                    Beautiful and healthy
This was perfectly packed and even though it arrived a day late it arrived alive and free of damage, even delivered right side up. 6 days later it is blooming and covered with lovely flowers. I'm so happy with this experience I just ordered another plant for my daughter.
