Product Details

The Lemon Lime Nandina from the Southern Living Plant Collection provides a zesty twist on the traditional nandina! The Lemon Lime Nandina's brilliant lime green foliage stays gorgeous and evergreen all year long. Luminous chartreuse green foliage emerges in the spring before maturing to light green in the summer. Consequently, it's perfect for brightening up spots laden with darker foliage plants. This shrub features a naturally compact growth habit, and won't get leggy like traditional nandinas. No pruning required! Therefore, fans of low-maintenance plants should consider letting this reliable beauty into their garden or landscape!

A:  No, these are evergreen bushes .. help to keep mosquitoes away .. we planted them around our porch. Love the color and will not take over or hide porch. They were a perfect pick for our home .. would recommend.

A:  I don’t know where you live so that’s hard to say. But any plant in a container will behave differently than planted in the ground. I grow these in Dallas and survived without an issue with zero degrees for over a week. In a container, I don’t like it would.

This a much larger plant than the 2.5 quart. This is my favorite nandina. In Dallas, it weathered the winter storm. The plants arrived in nice condition. If you want more instant plantings, go with 2 gallons. But if you have the patience, for half the price, the 2.5 quart will catch up in a year. I bought both sizes.

                      Much smaller than advertised.
While the leaves look healthy, the plant is very small. It is advertised as being 20 inches tall, but mine is only 9" in a giant 2 gallon pot. For the price, I expected it to be much larger....like the listing said it would be.

I purchased three of these because of the long time history Southern Living has! Very disappointed because apparently the ones I received had some type of disease to the foliage. I know that it did not come from any other plants in my yard because I had removed everything so I could start fresh. My soil was well prepared. Off course I have no recourse now because the disease started after the return time has expired!

Great plant for landscaping and specimen showcasing. Very healthy and grows with a lot of hardiness. You can tell it does not suffer 'transplant shock'. Used as a border edging around pools, driveways or landscaping features such as flower beds or accent doorways. BEST FEATURE: Animals steer well clear of this plant. Deer attempted to eat one of mine but quickly gave up. They must know the plant is toxic to eat. Have 25 of these planted in early May in full sun in extremely sandy soil and all are doing 100% or better! Oh, and the deer? Never touch them! Have watched them walk right past my entire landscape of these plants and never showed any interest in eating them at all! Beautiful plant with the two different shades of green. Highly recommend.
