On new foam it says to rough up the surface with a wire brush. So a rough surface is desired. As long as the ICF has not degraded to foam powder, or if you remove the degraded foam, I think it would work great.

Can this be applied with a heavy roller.

It can but it is pretty "gloppy". I used a thick wallpaper brush and got good results.

What is the hottest and coldest temp I can apply?

The curing temperature is 40 degrees minimum! The warmer the day the quicker it will cure. If applying in direct sunlight I suggest thinning it with small amounts of water to minimize excess build up and improve coverage

How many Sq ft will this 5 gal container cover.

That is a trick question. You can apply this with a bristle brush ,(my choice), or a roller. How heavy a coat and how warm it is can really chew up material. The manufacturer says 200 square feet. At first I thought that that was a stretch but I found that by adding small amounts of water to thin the mixture as I was applying it allowed me to get better coverage. The down side is that I got to go around the foundation twice! However... I had better coverage and a very nice end result.

It is a medium gray. To me it looks very much like a cement foundation color.

How long can I expect this product to last when subjected to daily sun?

The manufacturer states that it should be fine for 10 years or so. I'm exposed to sun for the majority of the day. I chose this product because of the UV inhibitor in it. Touch up as necessary however it might be awhile!

Hello Greg, It will depend on the type of coating that was used. Most foundations are coated with a cement or acrylic coating, which FlexCoat will bond to. However occasionally they are done with another material which will not work with our products. You can contact our technical department at 888-702-9917, and they will be able to assist you further.

I used this product to reface the concrete foundation of my house - I'm on an hill and large parts of the foundation wall are exposed on one side. It is easy to apply - I used a trowel, not a brush like they recommended. The brush technique didn't work at all. I had to guess on color, but it was fine. I needed a lot more than I thought I would. I recently applied it, so I don't know how it weathers.

It’s good. Just what you’d expect - the grey concrete looking stuff you put on blue board to protect it. My blue board had some blemishes, so it was time to make some repairs. This worked very well.
