Hello mike, You can apply Tuff II using metal lath. Because lath is typically thicker, you would need to do it in multiple coats. You don't want to do more than 1/8" coat at one time without letting it dry between coats. Depending on the lath, it may take 3-5 coats to build it up enough to get a good finish.
Color is tan (sand color). They make other colors and also can be custom color mixed. Product is made for outdoor use.
Hello Brew08, For exterior applications, it is not recommended to apply Tuff II directly to plywood. You will need to apply a moisture barrier to the plywood, then attach rigid foam insulation, and coat the foam. Alternatively, you can use cement board instead of plywood and apply Tuff II directly to that, without the need for a moisture barrier.
