They're sold individually. I bought three of them. I believe they were delivered in a two-pack plus a single piece.

What's the coating made from and does it withstand a weed wacker?

Asked by OldHouseOwner October 11, 2020

Answer

The coating is very tiny pebbles, but I used it on the back of an "interior" door that led to an uninsulated garage attic space. The 2 inch thickness has made a real difference to that room, the door no longer transmits the very cold air to the door so the room on the other side - my office - is much warmer.

To be honest, I didn't know that the "Earth Tone Brown" meant that the panel had a true "tiny pebble" coating on the 1 side, but it's insulation ability is amazing! I screwed the panel to the inside of my garage attic door to keep my office warmer, and it totally worked!

I used this to insulate a plywood box I built to hold two 15-gallon water tubs. The tubs sit at the edge of our horses' pasture. This product cut cleanly on the table saw, and installed easily using wood screws with fender washers on the screw heads. It's quite strong for insulation, and the pebbled surface will make it durable.

Unfinished look
Can’t find product the manufacturer suggests to finish the seams and corners. It looks good but unfinished. Need to fix some areas that the pebbles fell off

We purchased this product to hide the cement around the front porch. Some panels were scratched in transit. Not an issue if only on 1 side, as one side was buried 4 to 6 inches in the dirt. Some had minor damage on both top and bottom of the panel, so "pink" styrofoam is visible.
