Overview

Every piece meets the highest grading standards for strength and appearance. Douglas Fir paneling can transform any room into a dramatic, elegant space. The wood's fine appearance is clearly visible in a variety of applications such as edge-grain veneers for formal wall paneling or solid plank paneling for an informal look. When acclimated prior to installation, Douglas Fir retains its shape and size without shrinking, swelling, cupping, warping, bowing or twisting. The uniform grain and tough fiber holds stain well and keeps fasteners firmly in place.

What is the actual grade of the plywood? It appears in search as ACX and other customers have shown it displayed in store as ACX. Is this actually exterior rated? Production description should specify this detail but does not.
Asked by: Geeph
Hi there - the 'X' stands for exterior. This plywood is manufactured to exterior rating standards and uses a waterproof adhesive.

What is the difference between this "certified" plywood grade and standard ACX grade?
Asked by: JMC
Hi JMC, the certification on this product indicates that the wood used in the panel comes from responsibly managed forests that meet FSC's standards, and are verified by a third-party. There are no differences in grade or strength between the two panels. Thanks for the question!

Sanded Plywood (FSC Certified) (Common: 23/32 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft.; Actual: 0.703 in. x 48 in. x 96 in.) is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 8.

I probably should have learned my lesson the first time I purchased this product, but decided to give it another shot about one year later. One would expect that plywood should be flat right? I cut a 4 x 8 in half for a benchtop, and used1 5/8 drywall screws to attach it to a 2 x 4 benchtop. The piece was bowed so severely that the force of about eight wood screws would not suck it flat! Now, that's a warped piece of plywood. If you don't have any means of attaching this, forget it! I tried using it for cabinets that were to be painted or where the carcasses would not be seen, and had horrible issues with getting drawers to slide properly or simply assembling the cabinets as this stuff is so bowed. I can also say in several instances it completely delaminated after cutting. As in there was virtually no glue on the inner layers of ply. The piece I purchase also had some gouges in the front surface. This is not sheathing plywood. It's supposed to be close to cabinet grade. I really cannot think of any use for it, unless maybe you're cutting it into very thin pieces for shelving or something. The stuff is truly horrible to work with, and glad in this case I only purchased one sheet and I'm only out $40. The manufacturer should be embarrassed to put this product on the shelf. I will probably go back in get a sheet of particleboard, as I really need a flat surface for a benchtop, and this doesn't even remotely come close to that. Complete waste of time and money. I would not recommend to my worst friend. Truly a horrible product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from sanded one side The information online does not clearly state that it is plugged and sanded one side. The old plywood nomenclature would make that easy to understand. What is this and how do I find what I want without better language in the online listings? Guess I have to go to the store to shop!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice finish but... although this ply has a nice finish, the pieces that were pulled for my pick up order were damp and warped. Luckily i was cutting these down quite a bit so that the warp in the ply became a non-issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Plywood should be flat Wish I could be more positive, but this plywood came pre-warped. Plywood should be flat and stable.

The associate pointed me to this and I had two sheets cut into thirds for a cabinet I was building. As I started on the build at home making the cuts in my plan, I noticed that the plywood, while dry, was warped. Also as I started assembling, I was puzzled why my measurements were off. It was then I realized these were not a true 3/4. I know I should have noticed that from the beginning but the associate should have said something as well.
