Can I run vent pipe through the hose side wall ? Thanks

I don't see why not as long as it meets your localitie's plumbing code. I understand one person ran a 1 1/2 pipe with a 20% positive incline and worked fine.

I recommend going to the Saniflo home page and research there. They do require gfci circuits tho.

The pump is not working properly it only turns on for a second or two. The toilet is clogged and is inoperable.

Sounds like a "logjam" unfortunately the back cover needs to be removed and the pump area cleaned or try plunging the toilet if obstructed there.

Hello, this will work. You can simply use the plastic pipe hangers found in the plumbing section. Don’t forget the correct pipe slope for the length of run you are using.

How high would the shower have to be raised in order to leave room for the drain?

Asked by Jesse November 13, 2018

I built a 2x6 platform with 3/4” plywood on top which gave me just enough room for the shower drain and a 90° elbow which also give me just enough room to leave a quarter-inch pitch for water drainage. Sani flow is behind the toilet against the opposing wall

Dissapointed
Had the system installed by a professional. Less than a week later the macerating pump would not function. No paper towels, sanitary pads, or anything unusual flushed down the toilet. Used the approved extender to leave room between wall and toilet. Pump shut down, would just rumble a little after flushing. Eventually had to separate toilet from the pump to locate the problem. Bathroom flooded with solid waste material, toilet paper and urine that was just sitting in the tube even after trying to remove as much of the liquid as possible. Baseboard, flooring and sinkbase ruined by the solid waste sticking to everything. I think the .5 HP is not enough power for even everyday use. Waiting for a replacement. Going to ask if there is any way to upgrade to the Saniflow Best pump with more power. Thank God the motor is still under warranty. This entire system cost me over $1200.

My 800 sq ft basement was recently finished. I had a full bathroom installed as well. To avoid having to have the foundation of my concrete floor hammered in and to save on the labor associated with that way of doing things, I decided to go with the SaniAccess3 macerating pump. Since this was new to me, and that I wasn't sure if I might have to eventually have access to the pump for some type of servicing, I decided not have it installed out of sight behind the wall. Well, it has been roughly 3 months since install. It is highly efficient as a toilet and serves as a great way to drain plumbing from my new vanity/sink located 4 ft away from it on same wall. Again, it is different and may take a little getting used to as my other three bathrooms have standard toilets, but this one serves the purpose, operates efficiently and routinely, and saved me quite a bit on labor cost compared to other approaches.

Pros: Hasn't broken after ~18 months (used gently). Cons: Smells bad. Requires frequent flushing to reduce the odor. I suspect the design requires more than one flush to fully eliminate the bowl, even if it's just urine. Definitely doesn't deserve the WaterSense rating. Proprietary shape requires SaniFlow seat and lid to fit nicely (note off-center look of standard round seat). Conclusion: All in all, it does the job of an upflush toilet, but there's no way it's worth the current price of about $1000.

If you are getting odor from this unit into the home, something is seriously wrong that needs to be addressed. Your drainage system is a closed sealed system. One end is the vent pipe that goes up through the roof and the other is connected to the city sewer line or your septic tank. Once the waste passes out of the bowl it is in this sealed system. No sewer gas should be able to get out into your home. If it is you have a venting issue. This should be corrected immediately. Sewer gas can be extremely dangerous which is why the venting of waste lines is so important. For every drain line leaving a fixture such as the pump there needs to be a corresponding vent line going back to the main stack to balance out the air pressure change created by the water going down the pipe. If the vent lines are not plumbed correctly the movement of water can push sewer gas to places where it should not be.
Other than the normal smell you get when a bath room is used you should not be getting any other. Also you should be able to use this pump as often as you like. Not using it will limit its life more than using it daily.

My instal was for a detached garage approximately 75 ft from sewer main, slight downward grade through hard coral rock. I used 3/4 pvc as 4" drain would not have been practical. The pump is quieter than expected-nothing as loud as macerator pump on a boat toilet-it is barley louder than standard flush. I have tested it multiple times. It generates a lot of pressure for the thinner than expected rubber fittings to the 3/4 pvc. I have had to tighten hose clamps on these fittings a few times to stop leaks-thus don't put them behind a wall with out access. Also with my down hill discharge I will need to instal a vacuum breaker at apex of 3/4 line. HD sells these about $20, without it will siphon from pump tank to less than recommended water level. I do think this is a great product- with shower and sink capacity this would be ideal for basement or cottage/cabin with challenging or up hill septic tank location- or for an awesome garage man cave.
