AnswersI tried calling - late in the day and gave up. I called first thing in the morning and eventually got through. I'm still considering which Z-hub to purchase. (I guess it won't be Ring!) I just like the lockset - seems sturdier than my old Kwikset - and the convenience if I'm locked out without a key and don't feel like walking back around the house to get in.

AnswersI removed the lock and trashed it. I think Wink is a bait and switch tactic that roped us into thinking, we buy the hub and we are good. Schlage is is also involved with this deceitful tactic. Spent a lot of money to be fooled.

AnswerWe apologize for the misinformation. The Schlage Connect is not a Bluetooth compatible lock. This lock must be paired with a Z-Wave hub to enable remote connectivity. The feature you're referring to is called "Geofencing", which the BE469 does not support. AnswerThe Schlage Connect does not know if the door is opened or closed. However, if the lock is paired with a Z-Wave hub, you can also purchase a door sensor to pair with the hub as well, which will allow the lock to delineate the difference between opened and closed. Bought this to avoid leaving the house without the house key. We do a lot of dog walking and it is just a matter of time and I know it will happen getting locked out. I saw this tandem on sale, I did not think twice. After installing it, I bought the hub. Downloaded the app and customized it by providing each one of us our own passcode. I can monitor and remotely can lock if someone left it unlocked. I have no regret and it looks beautiful.

Looks great. Works reliably, fairly easy to program. I like the built-in alarm feature. But it is quite noisy, and sounds rough, like the gear mechanism is lacking lubrication or needs to have been cut with better precision. I also had to reuse the old latch plate. Be careful when drilling holes for the long outside handle, because the template that comes with the set is about an inch too high. See attached picture. I can send more if necessary. The button about 1" below the random hole in my door is where the hole is actually supposed to go in order to secure the outside handle into place. Unfortunately, now I have to ask Schlage for another Aged Bronze cap to cover this additional hole in my door and it has been over 2 weeks with no response. I even tried to buy one online, but not only do they not seem to exist, but even if I wanted an off-color one they are like $20.

I've had this for about a month now. The fit and finish is very nice, and the deadbolt and keypad work well too. We ended up only using the deadbolt/keypad and not the handle as we didn't want our young kids using the lever to open the door.
The android app is garbage though. Couldn't get it to connect to the lock after several tries, and if you read the app reviews, this is extremely common.

The Schlage Connect can only pair to Z-wave hubs such as: Wink, Samsung Smartthings, IRIS or a Nexia hub. Without this piece you will not be able to pair the lock to your cell phone. The Schlage Sense app you're trying to pair to is for a completely different lock, the Schlage Sense. Model #: BE479. The lock was easy to install and configure. The original handset was an older type and the bottom hole for the outside handle had a different hole spacing as that of the new Schlage, however the new lock matched so well I decided to keep the old handle and not have to drill another hole. This unit has many configuration options such as entry code length, Auto lock, three different alarm modes, and up to 30 users codes. There is also a feature called Vacation Mode that allows you to prevent all user codes from unlocking the door. I have only had the lock installed for a few weeks and so far it's working fine. My wife really likes it. I gave it a 4 star rating, only because I haven't had enough time to give it a complete evaluation like battery usage. I have installed the same lock at my son's home about 6 months ago and he has not had any issues.
