This happened to us too. We finally figured out you need to insert the pin then TURN IT 1/4 turn to the right.
Hello, Thank you for asking this question and I do apologize for the issue you experienced with your lockset. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the lock. The 9pin tool that comes with the lock can be inserted into the exterior pinhole to disengage the locking mechanism. If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
Two possible solutions: 1. If you had a Philips screwdriver, you could remove the two screws that hold the two sides of the door lock together. 2. If you had a credit card or metal scraper, you could push in on the slanted side of the latch bolt. If.
If the F40 is locked, you can only open the door by rotating the interior knob (causing the button to release) or using a thin tool to insert into the exterior knob (which also causes the button to release). If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
It comes with a little pin that you can use to unlock the door in case it accidentally gets locked and shut.
Yes, all knobs/levers come with a circular drive-in option. If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
Yes.
It is meant for interior use. You could use it on exterior but any damage from rain would likely violate the warranty
I think you would want to get a regular entry knob for that, as this one has an area you could stick a pin in to unlock. It might not matter if you had a deadbolt separate from this, but I would just get a regular entry knob for that anyway. Not sure if that hole for pin should get water and exposure from outdoors.
Yes, all Schlage locks have a removable face plate. If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
No, there is just the door knob.
The F40 requires a cross bore diameter of 2-1/8". If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
