AnswersScotchgard Fabric & Carpet Cleaner is intended for use on washable fabrics and fabrics approved by the manufacturer for water-based cleaning or protection products. These fabrics are generally marked “W” or “WS,” but check the manufacturer’s cleaning care and warranty information to make sure. Do not use on “S” coded fabrics, silk, wool, velvet, leather, imitation suede, or “dry clean only” fabrics. Fabric codes can be found on the tag sewn into the item by the manufacturer.

I used it to get rid of a small stain from plants and now I have a HUGE yellow stain. I never leave reviews but I was so upset by this that I feel like I need to warn people.

Ain't gonna lie. With a name like Scotchgard and 3M, I was counting on the product to be overpowered and probably stained my vehicle seats. I didn't really notice a difference after the first application... and the second.
The instructions are pretty elaborate. Hold about 6 inches away. Use small pulses. "If overspray occurs, quickly wipe up"? I didn't know what constitutes overspray so I spray a very light amount the first time. It foams immediately when hitting the fabric, so it doesn't appear to deep clean.
After waiting a few minutes, the foam turns into a very loose foam that looks like a tuft of hair. I wiped it with a slightly damp microfiber cloth. Nothing changed.
I tried it again, this time almost soaking the fabric and scrubbing it a bit before it really got to foaming. Eh, no big improvement. I could have got more out of scrubbing it with mild soap and water. I'll try it again, as my light spraying means I have almost an entire bottle remaining, but the time I spent spraying, waiting, wiping, and frowning in disappointment could have been better spent scrubbing.
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but for the premium you pay, I expect it to work better than me scrubbing it.
