Since the track-caps are only available in light colors are they able to be painted or dyed to match the color of my deck? I would prefer a dark brown or I could live with black.
Asked by: Mark
The track-caps are vinyl. So, if you can find a compatible dye / paint you should be good to go. The track-caps are decorative - not required to hole the screening in place - that is the job for the spline. You could substitute something like wood or metal, but you would need to attach the substitute with an appropriate fastener.

I can not get this to stay in the track. It seems to pound in but then pops off. I thought I had it up and then it blew off in the wind. It is not secure at all. As I hammer in one piece with the mallet, another piece nearby will pop off. Is there a better way to attach these other than gluing them in permanently?!
Asked by: Mickey
Keep trying. the caps have to be aligned with the base correctly or the will pop off. Be sure to trim the screening b4 attaching the cap.
