Product Overview

  • Can be installed wet for immediate pressure testing
  • Strong, Flexible, and Corrosion Resistant Pipe
  • Connectable with SharkBite Push to Connect or barbed fittings
SharkBite PEX tubing is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. Manufactured with an oxygen barrier for radiant floor and hydronic heating applications (available in orange). The oxygen diffusion barrier applied to the exterior limits oxygen permeation through the tubing wall in hydronic heating applications which prevents corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system. A repeating SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-to-Connect Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint pattern.
  • Strong, flexible, resilient pipe that provides superior temperature performance
  • Oxygen barrier helps prevent the corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system
  • Flexibility reduces number of fittings needed to complete a job; reducing cost and leak points
  • Can be installed wet or dry for immediate pressure testing
  • SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to ensure pipe is fully inserted when using SharkBite push-to-connect fittings
  • SharkBite system provides a variety of connection options, SharkBite PEX can be connected with SharkBite push-to-connect fittings or barbed fittings
  • Manufactured and tested to meet or exceed the requirements of the ASTM F-876/877/2023 and CSA B137.5

Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the Orange PEX at $168.50 and the Blue PEX at $129.00?

We need this for a boiler to run water 300' underground at about 120 degrees F. to a radiant heated floor in an outbuilding. It will be installed in a conduit (2" Sched 40 PVC) with an electric power supply at 24" depth.
Asked by: AndEnergy
for the record this is PEX-B not PEX-A color does not indicate type. they are very different and use different connectors. PEX-A uses expansion tool and fitting and will not work with crimp rings.

What connector can I use to hook this up to 3/4 black pipe

Asked by: Tone
You would need to use a SharkBite female threaded adapter. Then you can install PEX pipe into the push to connect side of the fitting. If you have further questions, please contact Customer Service M-F, 8am-5pm at (877) 700-4242.

Using this product a little bit out of its scope, using it for solar heating on my roof tied into the pool. Painted it black to attract heat and to protect from UV. It hooked up well I'm using 300 feet / 4 x 4 cell.. and covered it with corrugated plastic. My cell get up to a hundred and forty degrees which is under the temperature rating of the shark bite piping. Keeping my fingers crossed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed at a great price I needed this to repair a radiator hookup in an older home. I had a hard time finding the 3/4" pex with oxygen barrier in any plumbing/heating supply store and ultimately tried Home Depot on line. I had it delivered to my home in about 4 days. Next time I'll try Home Depot first!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product / easy to use. Used this product to make connections in existing hydronic heating system for additional baseboard heat. Used the clamp connections and some shark bite connections. You need the clamping tools for this. Can cut with a regular twist and spin pipe cutter but don't dig in too hard. Keep it warm as the colder it gets the hard it is to manipulate. Doesn't make 90 degree turns tightly, you need a good 12" -16" to make a 90. Just buy the 90 degree fittings if you don't have the space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, easy to install Pex is a great product. Be aware that the pex clamps and tools are proprietary. Home depot has Apollo clamps and tools, which work very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but beware Thie is some high quality PEX for heating application - but it is VERY STIFF - I had to use a blow dryer to get it to flex especially at 90 degree bends. Used with shark bite fitting to reroute a pipe the was running through my garage. So far working well. If you need PEX that's easy to bend try PEX-AL_PEX but I'm not sure where to get it.
