Doesn’t cut straight
I purchased this Pex Cutter after my PVC ratchet cutter mysteriously disappeared lol. Big mistake. I’ve been trying to cut a straight end for 30 minutes which is frustrating. I’ve put clamps on and it leaks, done that 5x. Finally borrowed neighbors PVC CUTTER.

Awesome, strong cutter for PEX.
They changed this product just about the time I bought it - the old ones were very lightweight. This design is almost all metal (except for the grips) and feels quite strong and robust. I've used it on PEX for interior plumbing and to cut irrigation hose (for drip irrigation). It worked great for all these. The point in the middle of the blade helps catch the tubing and pierce, rather than push it away from the cutting edge. The blade looks like it is replaceable, but I have not tried to do that. The blade locks closed and is completely hidden / protected when closed so you don't have to worry about dinging the cutting edge or hurting yourself.

Just like some other cutter
some are better than other cutters. the only problem with this item for the value is not as expected to function. further more for a product that's well known I would of thought it would cut a lot more straight than other brands do. out of a couple of cuts maybe one or two look almost straight but not straight enough to where I feel comfortable to use a 🦈 bite connection. I would use this cutter more for a crimp connection instead. hope this was helpful. the cutter blade doesn't stay center most of the time, the slot the blade closes in is too wide at the point it goes to the right or left side. much obliged...

I am a bit of a pexpert, and have arrayed a nice, portable kit containing all the tools and fittings I (or a number of friends) need for small to large projects. This cutter is vastly superior to my previous cutter, which has been bumped to the drip irrigation toolbox. Only a plumber would need to replace the cutter blade, but it is a simple tasks to replace the cutter - just remove the two bolts. The cutter is easy to use, with good spring action and grippy handles. The locking mechanism is a bit sticky, but has smoothed with use. It has a wide ‘cutting’ platform and produces consistent and accurate right-angle cuts. I think the cast aluminum body will mean this is the last and only PEX cutter I will ever need.

With PEX becoming more and more popular, if you don’t already have a cutting tool, you need to add one to your toolbox. This one is sturdy and has very comfortable rubber coated spring loaded handles and gives you the leverage needed, but the size that allows you to use it in tighter spaces. This particular one cuts up to 1” and will also cut PE-RT, HDPE and Polyethylene tubing. It is made with a flat section inside the cutting area that allows you to keep the pipe square for a straight even cut. It has a V-shaped very sharp blade that slices easily and evenly through the tubing. The blade is easily replaceable (Model #25882) as the tool is made for years of service. With the tool locked, the blade is not exposed. The lock is easily operated with your thumb. It’s very sturdy tool made of metal. It’s a very simple tool, but well thought out in design. You can easily make straight cuts that are ready for connection. These are great for installation or just keeping one handy for repairs. It’s says ‘Pro-Grade’ and it really is a pro-grade tool. This will give you many years of great service and satisfaction.

I purchased this Sharkbite pex pipe cutter for use on various projects around the house. So far, this tool has done the job just fine. Nothing over the top or special, but it has worked correctly for all of my needs up to this point.
The soft molded grips are a nice touch when needing to use this cutter for some time. Definitely added some comfort and allowed for a better grip. The blade is decently sharp as well.

SHARKBITE 1/4 IN. TO 1 IN. PEX PIPE CUTTER.. This is an improvement in the older model, it has better hand grips and is more comfortable to use. Its good quality and works great. It has a nice color combination. The blade is razor sharp and cuts nicely. The handle is rubber and feels good in the hand, shape is nice and quality is good, Sharkbite is a good company with quality tools.

Nice finish and comfortable to use!
This is great for cutting PEX, PE-RT, HDPE and polyethylene piping. One can cut the pipe with a single hand, with the hand grips feeling smooth and comfortable. There is a locking lever to lock the tool closed. This prevents accidental cuts (people), and damage to the blade when not in use.
1/4” through 1 inch pipes can be cut and they fit snugly into the cutter. A quick squeeze on the handle and the pex pipe is neatly sliced!
The quality of the tool seems to be in line with other Sharkbite products, - excellent.
One should use the deburring tool after cutting.
The blade can be replaced with part #25882. A hexagonal wrench is used to replace the blade.

Exactly what I needed for my PEX plumbing project. This cutter is designed to cut up to 1" PEX. The blade is very sharp and cuts through the pipe very easily. I cut through 1/4" and 3/4". Gives a nice clean, straight cut with no burrs. And the blade is easily replaceable when it gets dull. The padded handles give you a good grip and make it easier on your hands. The frame is cast metal and appears that it will last a long time. There is a lock button to keep it in the closed position when not using it. The tool is compact in size. Jaws open maximum width is 3-1/4" and if the pipe is 5/8" off the wall or other obstruction the tool will fit around it. Overall a welcome and quality addition to my plumbing toolbox.
