Questions & Answers

Do i need to put teflon tape on the 1" FIP side commections? Or is OK just to tighten down the connections to the bypass valve?

The FIP side of the flexible hose has a rubber gasket. Will that ensure a solid and dry connection?
Asked by: JP
The seal is formed only by the oring. Putting teflon on the threads is useless.

What is the ;minimum radius bend that can be made?
Asked by: Dick
OK bought the connectors so I can answer my own question. The minimum radius bend is about 3 inches; think of being able to wrap it around a 6 inch diameter cylinder.

It's not always worth the money, but the money spent here eliminated a headache, allows for the softener to slightly move when needed and it also does the next guy a favor upon installing a unit. Bravo.

I change water supply lines from rigid to flexible with these hoses. I flipped the by-pass valve over to connect the hoses on top. Over many years the softener settles creating a misalignment at the by pass-valve.
