I often have winds in access of 50 mph especially during the winter. Will this product sustain that kind of wind...for example my concrete reinforced wood fences often blow down...I had wind gusts last week of 70+ mph and one of my fences was pulled out of 2 feet of concrete base. I was considering building a similar shelter using concrete block though some times even the block collapses. Please advise!
Asked by: Paul
Don't buy this type. Mine only held together about 8 months then ripped to shreds by the wind! Not Happy!

Are anchors included with this product?

I see the same manufacturer's product number (62693) listed on other websites with a breakdown of what is in the kit, but Home Depot has no such breakdown. Are the six "auger-style" anchor points included with this kit? Thanks for the help! I'd really like to buy through Home Depot so I can use the "ship to store" option and save a LOT of money on freight. Unfortunately, the HD website is just about the least informative out there compared to other sites that are selling this item.

Some anchors are I believe there were four 18 inch and they recommend using one for each section. I bought dog tethers and screwed them into the ground, works for me on the inside struts.

Yes they are included. Best to pour them in sack post concrete. They will hold up to anything.

It comes in too many pieces in order to keep the shipping box small. Fewer joints would make it stabler and reduce assembly time. 2. The manufacturer makes a lot of noise about really committing to staking the tent down but does not include substantial enough stakes to do so. Also, the means for holding the tent done is by attaching a cable through holes in the bottom of the corner legs but those holes are too low to enable the installer to create downward pull. 3. They tell you the tent has to be square within inches, but they only provide the left-to-right dimension, leaving you to guess the front-to-back and diagonal measurements. 4. You have to completely build the skeleton, then they tell you to take apart all of the bottom side poles to enable insertion into the tent sleeves. Can you say "make work"? 5. Ask me in two years whether or not I really recommend this. That's when we'll start seeing payback from not wrapping our boat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST!!! great product but read through the instructions first! don't bother putting on the bottom side rails because you just have to take them off.to put on the cover. don't tighten the bolts on the end pieces because you have to take them out to install the end walls. buy a piece of 3/4 or 7/8 conduit and end caps for the rear wall. mine was about 13'1" long but you should measure, you will want to fill the conduit with sand and put it in the pocket at the bottom of the wall. you may even want to buy ground anchors for it too. we also used those big concrete parking bumpers along the sides and ratchet straps to the upper side rails then buried the sides in dirt. if you are putting this up in a windy area I STRONGLY recommend it or something close. we are getting wind gusts today of 40mph and my garage is barely even flexing. we also put tape over the joints that would touch the cover just as a precaution. you should also buy the end vents. you can find them online. it gets super hot inside without it.

I guess maybe I'm just too picky for my own good..but.. the "T" bends look to have not been welded in a jig as they were very crooked and so with most of the pipe lengths. Once the frame was up, it looked like a two yr old built it. Took two people and stakes to pull it apart at bottom to even get it near the 13' width. Had to be tied and staked at every downtube to even get it straight at 13'. Even with it now up and covered, it's pretty embarrassing to look down the tubes inside. None of these "T" crosses where the small pipes were welded to the curve were near straight and you can't bend them. I guess it does the intended job but workmanship of framework is a (1) on scale of 10 . Very poor fabrication / welding techniques when you can see with the naked eye when taken out of the box how crooked it was. I was glad to finally get it covered so none of it shows outside but they need to fire their quality control person.

Yes I had to drill one set of holes and it wasn't perfectly laser lined up with the welds but once put together it all came together. Put foam pipe insulation on the frame sections that contact the roof and door panels. It's worth the little extra $$ and put it on double 2 X 8's or larger for a better foundation. I spiked mine down with three foot rods. May also but some additional cross member sections in on the roof collar tie area. Customer service was excellent from the company. My door had three small cuts and they shipped me a new door the day after I called. Can't beat that! Oh and despite the other reviews I put this together myself over a few days this winter, with only a helper to assist pulling the roof over it. Get a grip peeps and "read" the directions and watch a few videos... You can do it! LOL

Purchased this garage to cover a production skid that was crated in 3/8" plywood. It has to withstand the direct sun & wind of Florida for several months or more. The crate had 12"-15" to spare on all sides including the top. Fit perfectly. Two contractors put the frame together in a couple of hours. The frame had to be set on top of the crate to finish the assembly & then add all the coverings. The legs were tied down to a concrete slab with tapcon concrete screws. This is not an easy project to do, but the instructions were sufficient to explain how do perform all tasks. I would recommend this garage to anybody who needs the covered space. How long the polyethylene cover will last in the intense Florida sun remains to be seen. I am hoping maybe a few years or one hurricane season.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality material I first purchased a Cover-it shelter in 1992, it lasted till 2010. So I purchased a 13x20x8 shelter in 2011 and another in 2012. In May or June 2013 the seams of the 2012 unit main cover started to come undone, when taking photos of it to send in, I noticed my 2011 units roof starting to tear above the welded seam. It took me 3 MONTHS!, of repeated phone calls before I finally got though, 45 minutes on hold, just to be told my 1 year warrantee is up. I've asked what is required to purchasing a new cover and it's been 2 weeks and no response. These units seem well engineered and are simple to put up if you follow the instructions but, the quality of the fabric is very very substandard. The 1-800 # is a joke, 3 months of trying 30 to 45 minutes on hold ! If they offered the same rip-stop material that the original Cover-it sheds had this would be a decent product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money!!! I am not pleased with Shelter Logic products - this product does not come with a warranty, but be warned - the tents that do ONLY cover the frame - which is not what fails, but the covers themselves. We have had this tent for less than a year, and it is literally deteriorating! My father had also bought a Shelter Logic tent a couple of years back, and when the cover ripped (all the way down the center) they would not replace it! Ours has developed a bunch of holes and ripped where the tarp is anchored to the frame from - get this - WIND! We don't get a lot of inclimate weather in this part of NC, so to see this tent fall apart in the short time that it's been assembled is ridiculous. Save your money and DO NOT purchase products from this company!!! By the way - the price of this tent has gone up over $80.00 since we purchased it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Funny You Should Ask. Garage in a Box I purchased the Garage in a Box because I am a 77 year old widow who broke her hip and thought it would be prudent to get a temporary garage close to my house. It took my handyman, Dan, 7 hours to put it up. Not bad. I think the directions said 2 men 3 hours. We bought extra stakes to pin it down. The next day the whole deal went air-bourne (would have clobbered my Highlander except I was in the village). The garage in a box flew over a car parked in the drive and fell onto an apple tree outside my front door. My brother, a contractor, came with his crew and they reassembled it. Beat, torn, and ugly, they put it up and staked it down. Looks like the Inquisition put it back. Every time it snowed, I hobbled across the lane into the "garage," and used my cane to thump the snow off the roof. Last night we got a BIG SNOW and this morning my "garage" is a collapsed hovel. I wonder who to call to haul it away. Any thoughts?
