Answer This Question

can I use this product with screws that were pulled out of brick mortar to reseat the screws
ByMay 28, 2026

Answer This Question

Sika AnchorFix-1 is a high-performance, two-component adhesive anchoring system designed for threaded rods, bolts, and special fastening systems in solid masonry, including brick mortar. To use this product for re-seating screws that have pulled out of brick mortar, you would need to ensure proper preparation of the holes: Clean the holes thoroughly: The anchor holes must be clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, and any loose particles. Since the screws have pulled out, the mortar might be compromised, so removing all debris is crucial. Ensure substrate quality: The mortar must be at the required strength. If the mortar is severely damaged or crumbling, the product's effectiveness may be reduced. Apply the adhesive: Inject the adhesive into the prepared hole, starting from the bottom, and then insert the screw with a rotary motion. Some adhesive should come out of the hole to indicate proper filling. Allow for cure time: The screw must remain undisturbed until the adhesive has fully cured to form a strong, durable bond. While the product is suitable for anchoring in masonry, its success in previously damaged holes depends heavily on the condition of the existing mortar and the thoroughness of the hole preparation.

Need to place a threaded screw in concrete but will need to be able to remove screw in the future. Can the bond be broken in the future to remove screw?
    ByMar 28, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Sika AnchorFix-1 is a high-performance, two-component anchoring adhesive system designed to create a strong and durable bond for threaded rods, bolts, and rebar in concrete and masonry. This type of adhesive is generally intended for permanent anchoring. Breaking the bond to remove a screw in the future would likely require destructive methods, such as drilling out the anchor or the surrounding material, rather than a simple unbonding process. The product is formulated for high strength and fast curing, indicating a permanent attachment.

            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

I used Sika AnchorFix to repair a carpeted concrete step in the garage that had separated at the seam and rocked when walked on. I thoroughly cleaned the joint, removed dust and loose material and filled the larger gaps with backer rod. I used 2 of the 10 ounce cartridges to fill the crack to create a solid bond between the separated sections. Although I used a standard manual caulk gun to deliver the adhesive, my hand did get sore from the hard squeezing, especially towards the end of each tube. It took a couple of hours to completely set up and has been solid as a rock ever since. Great product for this application.

I drilled holes into my mortar to put a flag but I didn’t buy the right anchors and I over drilled the holes. This was a costly fix but it worked right away and I was able to fix a couple other crack between my mortar with it. Just remember to go fast cause this stuff sets quick.

I used it to fill the void around an aluminum handrail post where the cement was broken away and around from. It worked perfect and made it rock solid!
