You will need 1.5 inch 9 gauge JOIST HANGER NAILS. Be sure they're galvanized for exterior use.

The difference is the finish. The A35 has the standard G90 galvanized finish which provides a low level of corrosion protection and the A35Z has the Z-MAX G185 galvanized finish which provides a medium level of corrosion protection.
