What is the larger home size?
Hi Holes, this is McKenzie from Simpson Strong-Tie. The larger holes on the 66T are for (3) 3/8" diameter bolts. The 66T can be installed with either the (8) .162" x 2 1/2" nails OR (3) 3/8" diameter bolts but not both.
What is the distance between the the two large holes across the top?

Do you mean a 6x6 or 4x6 post? Regardless, you can use this on whatever you want. T-straps are typically used to connect beams to posts/columns, but this strap is not load-rated, so you shouldn't use it on an engineered connection.

It says to install with 16d common nails, but can you use #10 x 1-1/2 in. strong-drive SD screws?
Yes, the SD #10 x 1 1/2" can replace the 16d common nails in the 66T strap tie. Thank you!

The 14 gauge T straps are not offered in black. The 7 gauge T straps (which are not only thicker, but larger dimension wise as well) are; please see the 1212HTPC or 1616HTPC. Thank you!
