A: Good morning Randy, this is McKenzie with Simpson Strong-Tie. The BCS2-3/6Z is sized for triple 2x beams on a nominal 6x6 post. Therefore if the lumber you are using (both beams and post) are nominal/pressure treated then yes, size-wise they will fit. You will need to confirm the loading is what you need as well for your connection. Thank you!
A: Yes it will fit 3 - 2x10’s. I used it for the same thing
A: Hi klemenid, this is Colin from Simpson Strong-Tie. The BCS style post caps are only available in 2 sizes. The BCS2-2/4Z is designed for a double 2x beam and a 4x4 post. Our BCS2-3/6Z is designed for a triple 2x beam and a 6x6 post. So a couple of options you can review with the designer are 1. Increase the beam to a triple 2x and use the BCS2-3/6Z, or 2. The BC46Z and use a 1/2 WSP shim (the width is 3.5" with this connector.) If you need more information regarding options or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. Thank you.
A: The description on this product is wrong, it says you can use #9 1 1/2" SD screw, it should be 2 1/2" screws, that's what the vendor recommends on their site. 14 x # 9 2 1/2" SD screws per bracket
A: Hi Phantom 199, my name is Ricardo from Simpson Strong-Tie. Thank you for the interest in the BCS2-2/4. There are a couple of options for fasteners. Option 1 (Nails): (8) 0.148x3 to the beam and (6) 0.148x3 to the post. Option 2 (SD Screws): (8) SD9212 to the beam and (6) SD9212 to the post.
