Q:do you have a bracket available to sit on a 6x6 beam but attach my cross beams that are 4x10

A:  Hello Bracket, our column caps are mainly used for a post-to-beam applications. If you have an actual cross beam application you may explore using the CCOB. The CCOB is any two CCOs may be specified for back-to-back welding to create a cross beam connector. You would need to use the table loads but the load is no greater than the lesser element employed.     Q:this sits on a 6x6 post? and would I be able to use 6x6 as a beam with this?

    A:  Hi Deck, this is Colin from Simpson Strong-Tie. The ECCLL666 is designed to sit on a 6x6 post, and carry beam widths of 5.5" wide, but the bucket heights are 6 1/2" so a 6x6 beam would be too short. You would need to bump up to something taller like a 6x8, or a triple 7 1/4" tall LVL.       A:  Good Morning Brett, Yes, the ECCL can be ordered in left and right hand versions. The ECCLL is a left and the ECCLR is a right. Then, the numerals will determine the nominally dimensioned sizes. The 888 will be for 7 1/4" to 7 1/2" beams on top of an 8x8 solid sawn post. Thanks, McKenzie
