        A:  Hello Romo, this is Efrain with Simpson Strong-Tie. Yes, a triple 2x12 can fit into an ECCLR. You would need to call out an ECCL6X or ECCLQ6X-SDS when ordering and specify your dimensions. If the triple 2x12 is going into the main beam then you may callout W1=4.625.             All measurements are actually "nominal"
            Product info very confusing. Item info identifies "nominal" versus "actual" dimensions. I needed "actual" 6 X 6 caps. Received this item measuring "nominal." In Specifications the measurement is listed Nominal Measurements: 6" Post X 6" Beam. So if you need the rough cut 6" X 6" don't order Simpson Strong ties. There were no customer service reps available to help response was "what are you talking about?.

This particular one is made for nominal lumber which isn't a full 6". However, we make many of our connectors for rough sawn lumber as well some parts we even keep in stock at "rough" sizes.
