The H2.5A is a hurricane tie that provides a positive connection between the truss/rafter and the wall of the structure to resist wind(uplift) and seismic(F1 & F2 lateral load). The A23 is an angle that can be used to make a wide range of 90 degree connections and resists seismic (F1 and F2) lateral loads. A:  They don't really hold any load. They are commonly referred to as hurricane ties acting to tie the floor rafters/ roof truss to the wall to prevent uplift during a high winds. They are not an alternative to LUS26

The H2.5A is overall 6" in height with the leg that attaches to your double top plate being 2-3/16" tall while the taller 3-13/16" length is intended for attachment to your rafter or truss.
