Hi Lori, this is Bekah from Simpson Strong-Tie. The LSTA12 is designed to be installed with either 0.148 x 2 1/2 nails or our SD #9 screw when installing into wood or if using in a CFS application a #10 self drilling screw. We do not have load/data information on installing with other screws. If you need more information or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you.
Good morning Alex, this is McKenzie with Simpson Strong-Tie. The LSTA12 strap is going to fall just below 1,000 lbs loading. Depending on the lumber you are using your loads with the LSTA would be either 925 (DF or SP Lumber) or 795 (SPF or HF Lumber). You can take a look on our website www.strongtie.com with a search of LSTA and look at some of the the longer options that will meet/exceed 1,000 lbs.
Yes, this gauge is bendable.
You can bend these but I’m not sure how much strength you need. If you need them to hold down a large structure from wind and all, they are not strong enough
The LSTA strap is not available in a 10" length, but it is offered in 9" (LSTA9). Thank you!
They come in many different lengths but I don't see any 10".
Just 12 and 18 but you can cut a 12" down
