A:  Hello Marine1955, I am Colin with Simpson Strong-Tie. The holes in the out bound flanges of the LUS26Z hanger are 0.171" diameter designed to receive the tested 0.148"x3" (10d) nails. The LUS26Z should not be used to attach a wood joist to a concrete surface. If this is your application open our home page strongtie.com, scroll down to the New Wood Construction Connector Catalog. Open the electronic catalog and scroll down to pages 243-245 for face mount hangers that can be installed onto a concrete surface. You may want to review this information with a design professional.
