Product Overview

The Simpson Strong-Tie TSBR truss spacer-restraint is a time-saving lateral-restraint product for wood and CFS framing that improves quality and safety. Easier to install than wood bracing, the TSBR firmly grips the trusses, capturing on-center spacing and keeping them vertical and plumb after placement, resulting in a better truss installation. The unique design eliminates additional time spent measuring truss spacing and laying out temporary lateral bracing. And once installed, the TSBR can remain in place to be sheathed over, thereby eliminating the need to remove temporary bracing and creating a safer, more stable work platform.
  • Enables the quick and accurate spacing of trusses without measuring or adjusting
  • Easily "grabs" onto the truss - may be put in place with one hand
  • Stays in place during sheathing, saving time and making the roof more stable for workers
  • Installs in less time and requires less total bracing material than prescriptive wood bracing methods - reducing labor costs
  • Length: 25-1/2 in.
  • Made from 22-gauge steel
  • Galvanized (G90) for extra corrosion resistance
  • Install with 10d common nails or 10d x 1-1/2 in. nails

Since I posted my contempt for the prices, these have come down in prices below 3 dollars. I'm a Home Depot fan, so I didn't mind calling them out on their over pricing. The price now, 8-22-2018 is in line with what the product should cost. 2-3$ is reasonable.

Once in place, they don't need to be removed. It's ridiculous to think they can or need to be removed. They space the trusses and that's all. Once the trusses are in place, you need to support them with 2 x 4's tied to the main floor to keep them from folding like a house of cards. Talk to local builders/framers for the same information. These are spacers and not meant to support an the entire trusses for very long.

Is this the price each?

Given the comment below, I will assume that the suggest price was in the range of $15+.00...which was clearly a typo. Typically speaking, they range at around $2-$3 each, give, or take. As of today, Feb '18, it's $2.85 ea.

Great time saving product
This is the 2nd time I have used truss spacers first time when building my current house and now on a hunting cabin. The great thing about them is the time that you save using them. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

Works great for quickly spacing out trusses but you have to make sure and push truss towards starting point before nailing spacer. I've found if you don't, there's enough play in the spacer that you can end up an inch off by the time you get to the middle of the building.
