It was used, not new
Purchased new, but it arrived used. Bobbins already had thread on them, and they and an accessory part were on the machine in the wrong place. Disappointing, since it should have come new as purchased. Hopefully it will still work correctly without any issues.

Thread constantly jammed in the hook
I have used it only 8 times but each time the thread jammed in the hook, causing the machine to seize up completely, i.e. would not move/stitch forwards or backwards. I have 12 years experience sewing and am taking advanced sewing lessons - my teacher had the same thread jamming/knotting up in the hook as I did. She was unable to figure out why, i.e. we used different types of thread: new, high-quality, 40 - 60 weight, all-purpose, cotton, polyester, etc.

horrible the thread kept on coming undone in the machine...
horrible the thread kept on coming undone in the machine the bobbin did not go back into place after various attempts even after watching & i broke 2 needles when i was trying to sew
