The 2-in-1 Alert and Alarm System puts you in control. It is a simple and cost effective solution to protect your family when you're at home or to secure your home when you are away. Thanks to do-it yourself wireless installation, no wiring is needed, it can be set up in minutes and there are no monthly fees or contracts. You can set the alarm in two different modes: Alert Mode - Safety and Peace of Mind when you're home. Get notified of your surroundings. Place your sensors indoor and outdoor and get notified if strangers are around your home or if a door, window or garage door is opened. The alarm system will beep and flash the zone light when a sensor is triggered in the alert mode. Alarm Mode - Security when you're away. Protect your home when you're away and sound the siren (built-in to the main unit) when sensor is activated. Arm your system with the keypad or keychain remote. If an intruder tries to break in, the sensor will be triggered and a loud siren will sound.

Do I need the internet
No, you don't need the Internet.
Not with this system. This is an internal local alarm/alert system only. If you want one that connects to your internet router and notify's your smartphone when the alarm is triggered, then look at SK-200 or SK-250 systems.
does this system work off of a router or do you need to connect it to a phone jack
This is a stand alone alert/alarm system. You do not connect this to your router or phone line. If the sensor is tripped, the alert sound or alarm sound will notify you. If you want something that connects to your router and notify your smartphone, look at the SK-150, or SK-200 or SK-250.
