I think I'm in love. Best straps to have in your truck
I absolutely love these straps. Like I honestly didn't think I'd ever be passionate about a ratchet strap but I am. These aren't the strongest or nicest straps I have but they're a goldilocks strap for me. These are what I keep in my truck under the back seat. Since I'm keeping them in my truck having them neat and organized is a huge priority and these do that. They're much better than the cheap husky's that I had in a bag under there before. The handles are also nice and comfortable and I've strapped down some things very tightly and the ratchet has held up very nicely. If you like things nice and neat you should get these.

Did not know I needed these!
I'm getting to the age where I'm feeling old and I've done things the same way for a while. For instance, ratchet straps. What a pain they have been. Well, there is a solution! These retractable ratchet straps are what the doctor ordered. They do exactly as they say and they are very robust. I have some side by side comparisons of my "old" straps that I use compared to these puppies. They are not as compact but I like the strength and solid build quality.
        Love These Straps
We just completed a stressful move and these straps made it a little easier. The retraction feature works smoothly and makes it much easier to hook one end and use a single hand to stretch the strap around the item being secured. We used it to secure boxes to 2-wheel dollies and even small cabinets and other items. We also used two of the straps together a couple of times when the items being secured exceeded 6 feet in circumference. When we showed these to our mover, he was impressed as well. We had already loaned the 10 foot version of these to our painter who said he would be buying them to secure his ladders to his trucks. Ratcheting and releasing work well and the rubber coating on the release is easy on the fingers. Overall, a great product at a reasonable price in my opinion.

        Easy and Fast adjustments
These SmartStraps retract and make tieing down loads a little simpler, these straps conform to a color coding system, as these green straps are rated for standard duty, with a break strength of 1,500 lbs, and a safe work load of 500lbs. With the self contained design, you don’t have to worry about feeding straps into the ratchet or tying off the ends, and since they are retractable, you no longer have the annoyance of the straps flapping around while driving. Definitely a time saver with this design and durability can only be tested with time, to me these are worth every penny. Smart Straps are undoubtedly an innovative and smart way to secure your equipment or material.

        Easy 5 Stars But...
I agree with all the positive comments of other reviewers. That includes comments about flawless retraction every time, no long tail to tie off, and overall simplicity of use. But I don’t understand the difference between these orange straps and the ones that are camouflage colored that would justify these being about $11 more for a two-pack. They both feature spring retraction, 1000 lb. working load and 3000 lb. breaking strength. Maybe the manufacturer can jump in here with a comment. But my confusion aside, these are great straps and came in quite handy during our move that is not just about complete. We used them on boxes, a file cabinet, tall storage cabinet and many more items. I then loaned them to my painter who just had a worker fall off the top of the truck when securing ladders and the rope broke (see photos). He will be getting these for both his company trucks if he has not already. I will also be reviewing the 6 ft. version of these. Guess that is about the practical limit of length that can be stored in the retraction housing.

Excellent strapping tool, very high quality
The smart straps SmartStraps 6 ft. x 1in. 1500 lb. is a great easy solution for tied down tasks. I used to use bungee cords and rope when the task required more strength. The first thing is I have never used the ratcheting tied down like this and I felt like a five-year-old trying to release the strap. For those without any previous experience (like myself) pull the handle backwards and then push in the button at the same time. I was trying each on their own and nothing would happen. The set is very high quality and a 1500 lb. rating for each strap will be plenty if you have a ½ or ¾ ton pickup that you are hauling with. I also appreciate the rubber coated S hooks on the straps. This keeps things safe from metal-on-metal scratching when putting the straps in place. I’m very happy with the straps.

        These are smart straps!
At first I was suspicious of retractable straps but these things work and are an engineering genius as far as I am concerned! We used for ratcheting down our boat to our trailer and they worked very well. Straps have been difficult to stow for years with all of the excess strapping, now, with the SmartStraps retractable ratcheting straps rolling up the extra straps is a breeze! I definitely think the retraction mechanism is heavy-duty and will last for years.

        Different type of strap
I always keep straps on my pickup and when they get beat up, I replace them so I can secure my load safely. The first thing that caught my attention was the size of the ratchet, these straps are 1000 lb. Working load and 3000 lb. Breaking strength, same as most standard straps, but these are a bit different. When using regular ratchet straps you usually have a long tail that you need to tie off somewhere to keep it within you truck or trailer, not with these, the ratchet is bigger because it is retractable and self storing of the tail so you will never have the flopping around, nice feature, I’m going to get a couple more.

        Amazing Retractable Tie Downs
I had never seen retractable tie downs before, just the ones that come in two parts where you feed one end into the ratcheting side. Once you extend and hook them, then you ratchet them to tighten just like the conventional tie downs. These work better than expected and I was very pleased with them. They work as advertised and are very strong. At 6 feet in length, I wish they were about 2 feet longer to reach across a trailer with items in it. They are good for reaching across a truck bed nicely.

        Retractable Ratchet Tie Downs
The retractable tie downs are the best. They hold as required and release with a quick touch of the button. It is labeled as RELEASE and it releases tensions on the strap and then automatically retracts the strap into the wind mechanism. The hooks are steel and very strong and covered in rubber so that you can hold even the heaviest of items in place. Recommend this item.
