no fold, it does however bend nicely for storage, we tie ours with a string.

Does the main handle adjust for height of user?

It does not. There is only one hole to assemble the two piece handle and no adjustments.

Bought this at the beginning of the winter. Worked great until it didn't. Didn't even last 3 snow storms before the shovel cracked. There is now a big hole in it. Look elsewhere.

Failed out of the box. The handle comes in 2 pieces. The lower section of the handle is supposed to slide down and snap into place in the shovel head but it got stuck halfway in and will not budge. This makes the shovel useless.

Unusable. Shovel face was cast too small and would not accept metal handle. Even with lubrication the shovel face cracked and was immediately destroyed while the handle step was still 2.5" from being seated properly. I have no idea how this was supposed to stand up to outdoor use if it cracks so easily. Absolute garbage and cannot be used.

I was excited to try this 18” Snow Joe Shovelution. Like most New Englanders, I have a collection of snow shovels. If there’s a better way to move the heavy white stuff, I’m in! Unfortunately, while this shovel is well made (sturdy plastics, metal, and tight fitting parts), it does not deliver the results I expected. Fine for throwing a foot or so of the light, fluffy stuff, but not for a foot of the wet stuff in March. According to the box it’s supposed to reduce strain. I found it to be the opposite. Trying to navigate the "sling and fling" handle pulled my weight forward (in front of my toes) which is the opposite of how you lift heavy objects. Lifting with the handle taxed not only my back, but my wrists, forearms, biceps, and shoulders. I tried different techniques without any luck. Perhaps this shovel should come with an instructional video. Do I keep my arm straight or bend it? Do I bend at the knees and keep my back straight? Why are my shoulders hunched up? Why am I feeling off balance? Am I struggling because I’m 6’ tall with arms that hang to my knees (slight exaggeration there). At 50” tall, the shovel should be tall enough for me. Should it be longer for tall people? Eventually I gave up trying to use the "sling and fling" handle. For the heavy stuff, the shovel was more comfortable used like a regular straight shovel. My take on this is that I’m either using it incorrectly or this shovel is merely an overpriced marketing gimmick for throwing powder. It costs twice as much as a regular shovel and gave me twice the body aches. Too bad! I was truly hoping for a shoveling miracle.

This well made 18" wide Shovelution snow shovel is great for those of us who are retired. The extra spring-loaded handle allows for easier shoveling, lifting, and throwing snow while performing these dreaded chores. It is made of sturdy, clear Poly Carbonate and has a velcro attachment for the extra handle when storing. It truly is amazing how much it helps to reduce back strain - only wish I had gotten it before the end of snow season!

Nice strong snow shovel that can be taken apart for storage too. A small amount of assembly is required and requires no tools. The main handle needs to be connected together using a small plastic wingnut, and then the assembled handle can be inserted into the shovel. It can be disassembled too, making it easy to keep in the car or storing away during summer. The main handle has an additional hand grip attached to it by means of a flexible flat metal spring. The additional handle allows a better, less back-breaking stance to be maintained, but I don’t buy into the spring enabling the shovel to return to one’s feet faster after emptying the shovel. The energy has to come from muscle power. The secpnd handle make it comfortable to lift a full load of snow up, before swing it out to throw it. The shovel itself is semi-transparent, made of polycarbonate plastic and is 18 inches wide. It has a wear edge that is riveted onto the cutting edge to provide a more durable edge. Shovel itself is light blue, with white handle and blue grips and writing. Two year warranty . Made in China.

As luck would have it, this shovel arrived the day before a snowstorm. Assembling the shovel was very easy, as everything clicks into place. The shovel itself seems very sturdy and should last many years. Now, picking up snow did seem a bit easier than using a normal shovel. This shovel has a small, tension loaded handle that sort of assists with the lifting. It works well and does provide less strain. Overall it is much better than a normal shovel and I also plan to use it to disburse mulch in the spring.

I just got this shovel and then I got about 8 inches of snow. what a great test!! let me start by saying, this is not the first 'back saver' snow shovel i have used. it is the first one which really worked. it is well made and came in three pieces, the blade and a two part Handel. easy to put together and requires no tools. it works great. you do not need to bend and your arms pick up the snow, a real 'back saver'. the fact that; after the winter is over i can store it in three pieces is just a bonus. my wife and i love it.

I say that you can never have enough storage and shovels. This Snow Joe shovel is another fine Snow Joe product. Their power tools are great, so any manual tools are a welcome addition to the others. This shovel is different in so many ways. The first is obvious. It is the extra handle that takes a lot of strain off the back. The connector to the second handle is spring loaded and that is what gives it that extra help. Both handles are Tri shape made of polypropylene. It was easy to assemble. Only three snap together parts. That made for a smaller shipping box. The shovel is made of clear polycarbonate which is said to be indestructible. As other shovels have broken in the past, this sounds like good news. It also has an extra strip along the bottom for extra strength. And, since the long shovel handle is also metal, there will not be breakage there. It is eighteen inches wide and light weight. Also, since this is strong and light, it can be used to shovel mulch or other moderate weight material.
