132 LBS The above advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at www.nfpa.org/freeaccess. The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.

What size wire is the neutral?

Answer

The neutral will be 6 gauge, as well as the other conductors.

Will this be big enough for a 100 amp box for a garage it's about a 70 foot run?

Asked by Larry May 1, 2017

Answer

Unfortunately this wire is too small to work for your application. We could recommend having 1 conductors per phase utilizing a #1/0 Aluminum conductor will limit the voltage drop to 2.43% or less when supplying 100.0 amps for 70 feet on a 120 volt system. Hello, Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Unfortunately, we do not sell the URD Erskine Aluminum Cable by the foot. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

smaller roll available?

Asked by bigpaul1 August 22, 2014

Answer

First, the description should read 6-7 (not 6-3), but to answer your question...this is the only roll size available right now. You can check with your local Home Depot because some stores cut certain wires "By the foot". I have attached a spec sheet for the Triplex URD for your review.
