Is this stranded or solid? Description says stranded and the picture says solid.
Asked by: Tim
This product is stranded. We apologize for any inconvenience, the image should be corrected shortly. The above advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at www.nfpa.org/freeaccess. The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price. I find not only does the stranded carry a load better, but it is also easier to work with in tight outlet boxes. This wire is well made, easy to pull, and everything I would expect.

Aluminum bends and goes out of shape much more readily than steel. This means it can be damaged easily. Also aluminum takes less heat to raise it’s temperature than steel, which is a safety concern.
