Not recommended as an outdoor wire, no weatherproofing. Even under a canopy moisture and condensation can get into boxes and cause damage.

How much does 250' weigh

Asked by Caddy March 8, 2017
1
Answer

Approximately 32 LBS. The above advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at www.nfpa.org/freeaccess. The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.

Lite or Standard cable

I think you are referring to the conductors themselves. This is solid copper conductors, 3-Line conductors with 1-Ground conductor and the outer armor covering. Used for indoor lighting, outlets, switches in properly constructed circuits. Not weatherproof.

MC lite is aluminum sheath with a bare tinsel ground that wraps under the connector clamps. It is UL rated and almost all code jurisdictions will accept. Regular MC has a full sized green ground conductor up to size #10 AWG.
