.0808 inches, Wikipedia, American wire gauge
12 gauge is the size of the wire it is larger the 14 gauge and smaller then 10 gauge, it is a single strand of wire, that has no coating on it(plastic or paint). In electrical use this bare wire does not carry any electrical current. Home depot does have heaver wire that you can use to make the bicycles wheels sizes 6 and 4 bare copper wire. All Electrical wire is 99% pure copper.
You should. I ordered 24 feet and it was all one piece
Sure, but the AWG 14 equivalent would be lots easier to handle.
This wire is sold only in coils.
It Should work if you under wrap on the last coil in my view!!!
At this gauge there is no difference.
Here is an MSDS for the material used in this wire: http://www1.mscdirect.com/MSDS/MSDS00022/06337786-20150920.PDF
Go with the solid wire. You will need clips to attach each piece of coping to the bond wire. It is flexible enough that it will not break when installing the bond wire.
That must be a pricing anomaly. Mine was not available in store, only online.
