Q:I’m trying to add another outlet, run from another one. Is this the wire needed to do so?
    by|Feb 4, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Depends on what is coming into that original outlet and where it is. If it’s an interior outlet, it may be on Romex 14/2 which is for 15 amp. Romex 12/2 is rated for 20 amp. Check your circuit breaker for a clue as to the load currently protected on that.

Q:How much electrical wire ddo I need for 2400 square foot house?

      Answer This Question

A:  It's really impossible to know without looking at your electrical plans. It depends on the number of circuits and layout of them. But for an entire house it will be a lot and different awg and # conductors for various circuits from outlets to oven.

We installed a water pump and GFCI outlet on a 20 amp circuit. The wire worked as expected. We installed the Romex in 3/4 conduit to keep the yahoos from cutting through it.

            25ft roll only had 11ft
I measured up my small project and figured I needed about 22ft of wire. Purchased this 25 ft roll and figured I’d have a few extra feet left. Strung it out and only made it half way! Pulled it out of the wall and laid it on the floor to measure. Only 11ft in the package! The package was sealed and unopened. Not happy.
