Is this wire solid copper or copper clad aluminum?
Copper clad aluminum wire.
It's copper as the CU designates. If it was pure aluminum, the deALsignator would be AL Copper-Clad wire is CCAW(Copper-Clad Aluminum Wire) or CCA (Copper-Clad Aluminum)
I cut this wire, it looks like copper to me, the silver is tinned copper

Connecting to sound speaker with one black and one red connecting port... How do I identify which port to connect on you wire?
Red is positive & black is negative. Connect copper colored speaker wire to the red terminal & silver colored wire to the black terminal. Maintaining this consistancy will keep your speakers in phase.
