The 500 ft. 18/7 Sprinkler Wire spool, designed expressly for sprinkler and landscape lighting, is built to tolerate UV and high daytime temperatures as well as direct in-ground burial in wet locations. The PVC-insulated copper cable is UL listed and helps create a clean look in any yard or landscape. UL listed.

    A:  The correct answer is not 0.0403 in. That is the size of the bare wire itself, also known as 18 gauge or AWG. My question referred to the product itself. So I went back to Home Depot and bought a small piece. Fits snugly in a 5/16" hole in my drill gauge.
