what is meant by "12 solid bare copper wire"?

I'm trying to make a lawn decoration that is two of those BIG WHEEL bicycles, one smaller than the other. I've priced wire from Jewelry Supply places, but it seems they are either coated copper, mixed alloy copper and have gauges such as 21, or 20 ga. wire. I need something a bit sturdy to withstand the Arizona wind from dust storms, etc. Thanks in advance for your help on this.
Asked by: Mimi
12 gauge is the size of the wire it is larger the 14 gauge and smaller then 10 gauge, it is a single strand of wire, that has no coating on it(plastic or paint). In electrical use this bare wire does not carry any electrical current. Home depot does have heaver wire that you can use to make the bicycles wheels sizes 6 and 4 bare copper wire. All Electrical wire is 99% pure copper.

Asked by: Taylor
