A: Hello Deb, we thank you for your inquiry. As long as the product is used as directed you can use this before you plant your edibles. Once your vegetable garden is planted, however, you can not use the product in your garden.
A: I'm not sure I have used it in my garden to kill fire ant mounds and not noticed any problems. You need to read the directions to be safe.
A: Sounds like overkill to me. In my experience this stuff kills 'em. BUT you may have to open up the mound a bit if it is a big one, in order to get a nice application of poison in there. I wear rubber boots and wade on top of them like Godzilla if necessary with no bites. 100% effective.
A: Per directions spread granules on mound and add water to activate.I wouldn't use insecticide, water lightly.
A: The answer is no it is over kill just follow the directions.Spreadsome around the mound first then on top of the mound it works great.
A: Thank you for your question. We can only recommend watering the product in with water.
A: Mixing two chemicals is never a good idea. The reaction is unknown, you could render both harmless or you could make a compound that could be deadly not just to ants. I have used this product for some time now and I am very satisfied with how it well it works and how fast it works but you have to follow the directions on the label to get the most effectiveness.
A: This is on the package: Keep children and pets off treated areas until product has been watered in and lawn is dry.
A: I poured the granules down the red-ant holes with a plastic container, as best I could. Those biting ants were gone the next day. But I would keep pets away. Ingredients kill ants, which are small, so the granules might make a cat or small dog sick.
A: It is poisonous, however,on my cul-de-sac there are 3 outdoor cats and my dog is not leashed where I used this product. None of these pets showed any interest. I would keep an eye out, but I had no problems concerning mine or the neighbors pets.
A: no ,this product its not save for pets,i have dog,and when i spread some around my garden,my dog was walking on it,and i discover wounds on her soles. be careful when using this product.
A: Thank you for your question. All pets must be removed from the area during the application of the product til dry. Once dry it would then be safe for pets to enter the area.
A: Watering is a must as it activates the molacules and not only kills the fire ants on top, but get down to the queen. How many granules you use depends on the size of the mound; I just killed over 10 mounds. Some only required the 1/4 cup recommend, while some bigger ones I missed noticing required more. The key is putting granules on and around beyond the mound with granules, so no fire ants can escape and start a new mound.
A: Used 1/2 cup and watering is necessary. The package is big enough to do the job on multiple ant hills.
