Q:When can I expect my Catkill to bloom, they just resemble tall weeds
      by|Jul 7, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question concerning the Purrsian Blue Catmint Nepeta. This plant is shipped as a dormant bareroot. It will begin it's growth by establishing a new root system, and may bloom the first year depending on growing conditions and time planted. If it doesn't bloom the first year after planting, you should expect blooms during the second year. This plant will take 2-3 years to reach it's mature size. If it's not blooming, ensure it is planted in light, well-draining soil. It grows best in full sunlight. Catmint may not bloom during extreme heat, but will grow new flower shoots once the weather begins to cool.

I assumed these were going to come as a potted plant. But instead the came as roots in a bag. Very weird. I’m starting to see them sprout after a few weeks of planting them. I’m a little disappointed that they aren’t already established but time will tell what they end up looking like I guess

Thank you for leaving a review of the Purrsian Blue Catmint (Nepeta). We are sorry to hear of your disappointment. This offer is for one dormant bare root with average shipping height of 2 inches. Sometimes plants shipped this way may appear to be dead. However, dormant or bareroot plants are living plant material even though they may be completely void of green buds or leaves. They've been conditioned for shipping and will be ready to grow after planting. It may take as long as 6-8 weeks before they sprout to the point where growth is obvious. Additionally, this item is covered under a one year guarantee. If it fails to grow, please contact Home Depot Customer Service. You can find the contact information under "Customer Service" at homedepot.com.

          Didn't grow
Very disappointed that it didn't grow at all. I tried before to grow some of this plant from seeds and it didn't grow either. That plant was supposed to there for me to remember my cat.
