With the HOM220GFIC, how can I distinguish an overload trip and a ground fault trip?

Answer This Question

Hi I'm afraid there's no indicator for overload and GFI trip in this breaker. You'll have to check the load or the resistance of the ground and neutral Warm Regards, Schneider Electric Customer Care.

I love the fact that the breaker is already GFCI, which means the receptacle is also GFCI this makes it really safe. I think its worth the extra cost. It gives me great peace of mind knowing how safe it is around small children. I would definitely recommend purchasing Square D Homeline 50 amp 2-pole GFCI circuit breaker.

We were having problems with our furnace shutting down and not starting back up for about a week. We called to get it looked at and no issues were discovered with the furnace itself . I wasn't sure what to do at first after that. I went out to the breaker and flipped the breaker to turn the furnace back on after it shut off by itself again. The breaker wasn't tripping, but thought maybe that was the issue. I have never messed with a breaker replacement so I went online and watched a few videos on breaker replacement. It was actually very easy. Just had to take the faceplate off the breaker box and the old breaker popped out easily. I replaced it with an identical 50 Amp breaker and replaced the faceplate. After flipping the breaker back on I haven't had an issue with my furnace since.
