A: Hi Jgee, thanks for asking the question. Only our primed full square baluster comes with a pin, or dowel, on one end. The full square red oak balusters do not have the pin/dowel on one end, though we do sell them separately. Search on item# 205864598. Q:This is listed as 1 3/4 inch square. Does that mean it is 1 3/4 or less than that?

I needed a piece that was exactly 3/4 inch square...

I needed a piece that was exactly 3/4 inch square for a furniture repair project and I couldn't find that in wood supplies; so I improvised with this baluster and it worked perfectly. Sometimes you have to color outside of the lines.
