1 Case Does It All! - A Home Handyman's go to set.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one handy tool case! For the home handyman, this is a great starter set. To begin with you have a selection of both metric and standard tools to choose from - allen wrenches, open end/box wrenches, sockets and ratchet drivers with extensions, and probably most notable to me is the wonderful selection of 1/4" driver bits. You have not only your standard and phillips bits, but you have a good selection of torx bits and square drive bits as well. After all, who hasn't started a project or repair only to find that you need a torx or square drive bit to work on your project, well this set should help reduce the frustration. The sockets and ratchets have that traditional polish to them and the ratchets have a nice fairly tight degree of turn, and you get not only a 3/8" drive but a 1/4" drive as well along with any necessary adapters. And the case, it is well organized with a place for everything; very handy if you think you forgot a tool somewhere. The only thing of note that I found was that the open end wrench edges were a little sharp, not polished, which is the only thing about this set that I didn't like. Overall this would be a great set to gift your favorite up and coming DIYer or home handyman; it won't break your budget and it will certainly not leave them stranded looking for the right tool. Great starter set, one that won't leave them digging through a tool box looking for just the right tool, they'll already have it. - William

All you need tool set to do most!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an older Stanley tool set and felt I needed to upgrade for more tools to do more automotive work. This set is an awesome upgrade! I’m actually during some of the hex keys for bike maintenance. The 50 screwdriver bits also make things so easy. The only think I don’t like about this kit is the case itself. The case seems to have mold defects or warping as some of the tools don’t fit their mold like the pliers and one socket. That gets a star off. After that this tool set is awesome. I find myself using everything in her vs using my old tool set and needed additional tools.

      Must have
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I recently started building our dream home. Good tools are a must. This Stanley 150 tool set has come in handy. The tools are of great quality and work well. Little hands can even use with ease. Glad to have them around for this adventure.

        Handy little tool set
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice little set you can keep in your car or even use it as a main tool set for home. It has enough tools to tackle almost any project you have whether it be automotive or just putting together simple projects around the house. A nice little set that I would recommend to everyone.

          Amazing starter tool set!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This compact 150 piece set is an excellent tool box for anyone that DIYs. I really like how it folds up and locks it had a little bit of everything including pliers, sockets 3/8s and 1/4. Also has 4 sets of screw drivers and deep end sockets. Would definitely be a first pick when grabbing tools to head to a job.

            A Beginner’s Automotive Tool Set
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you need an entry level tool set for working on vehicles, this is the set for you. If you want something sturdy, we’ll put together, and user friendly, this is NOT the set for you. It comes packaged together with a display covering that is plastic, screwed down to the case. So you now have 15 screw holes in your case. When you open it, some of the tools do not have a snap in home, so you’ll have tools falling out as you open it - every time. The tools are all sturdy, and the socket wrenches seem like they will take a beating for a while. Stanley is known for good tools, so I’m not concerned with the tool quality. It’s the poor workmanship of the case that probably won’t hold up over time. Though it does have a nice turn lock to keep it closed - if you can keep all the tools in place. Mine also has a broken plastic henge already from shutting it. I’ll see if I can get the plastic pieces back in place. Again, if your beginning your journey in automotive tools, and need an inexpensive set, this is great. If your adding, this is not it. If you find this on a Black Friday deal, go ahead and pick it up.
Pretty much everything you need in a portable kit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stanley 150 pc mechanics tool set has pretty much everything you would need in one handy / very portable package. The kit comes in a nice blow molded plastic case that has an easy-to-use ¼-turn lock and tightly packed array of tools. The kit opens up (really it unfolds) into 4 sections to gain access to the tools. Overall, this kit has most everything needed and the Stanley team seems to have incorporated a lot of good features along with a couple misses. See my summary below with a list of likes and dislikes… My likes… 1) The handle swivels and fits the hand nicely making the 13.5 lb. kit seem lighter than it really is. 2) ¼ turn lock is smooth with no sharp edges and has a definite “click” detent to let you know when its locked. Seems robust but time will tell how it holds up. 3) Nice high polish on the sockets and a good mix of metric and imperial sizes. Not every size but covers most everything I would throw at it. 4) The ratchets fit the hand nicely and are balanced nicely despite the head being somewhat larger than I’d like to see. 5) Thin combination wrenches, this is a big plus… nearly all of my wrenches are thick and there are MANY times I need a thin wrench. Thin wrenches (of high quality) are harder to come by than you would expect. The surface finish is a coarse sandblast and not a high polish that I’d expect but being thin makes up for the marginal finish. 6) Black and yellow screw drivers fit my hands nicely, the black portion feels hard yet padded. 7) The back of the case has keyhole slots if you want to wall mount the kit. My dislikes (or recommendations for improvement) … 1) The sockets are difficult to remove from their holder… I needed a screw driver to pop the sockets out of the case. Maybe this will improve with use but for now was too difficult to remove with finger pressure only. 2) Equally difficult to remove the small accessory bits. Big fingers makes this worse. 3) Does not come with a magnetic accessory bit holder. This was extremely frustrating to have the bit fall out of the socket (I used the ¼ socket as a bit holder) or get stuck to the fastener. BUT, after considerable frustration, I realized there is an unmarked socket that is supposed to be used for this instead of the ¼” socket. It holds the accessory bit tightly but is not magnetic. Consider labeling the special socket or just go to a standard magnetic tip driver type socket. 4) No U-joint swivel for the sockets and extensions. This is unusual to provide 3 different extensions but no universal / u-joint swivel. This is usually needed when changing spark plugs. 5) The ¼ turn lock could be a little taller and easier to grip for when fingers are fat or slippery. 6) The hinges seem tight with no slop but not having a pin, we’ll have to see how they hold up. 7) The door panel between the pliers and the accessory bit is not a live hinge but instead is a web of plastic… this will likely fail after repeated use but did not detract from the functioning of the kit. Overall, this is a pretty nice kit with everything packed tightly in a small package. Definitely recommend this kit.

                Its a good tool set!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A nice assortment of tools - but: 1. Too many 1/4 bits in my opinion. 2. The yellow plastic latch broke the first time I opened it. Otherwise, its a great set of tools. Aside from the poorly made latch, the case is actually very nice and the screw drivers and sockets fit snugly and are well placed. I'm not sorry I got it. just wish the latch would hold.

                  Good portable tool set.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this little tool set. I keep it in my car in case of emergency repairs. The sockets feel like they will take some abuse although the wrenches look like they were cast so we will see if I end up snapping any wrenches when trying use them together for extra torque. The price was spot on I think for what you get compared to other portable mechanics tool sets. I think its a good value and good enough for most smaller DIY shade tree mechanic jobs.

                    Compact, sturdy, and (mostly) comprehensive.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice, compact mechanic set. The pieces generally stay locked in place despite movement, bumping, etc; however, it’s also fairly difficult to get an individual piece out with just your fingers. I usually resort to popping up the flat head and using it to pry up whatever I need. Another downside in my opinion is that it comes with 50 different heads for a screwdriver, but no female-ended screwdriver is included. I’ve learned you can kind of get by with a 1/4” socket, but the male adaptor for the sockets really needs to be magnetic if that’s the route Stanley is intending here. Otherwise, those heads fall out pretty quickly. Overall, I think this set would be handy as a mechanic’s set as it’s got SAE and metric sockets, but if you need a head other than the two Phillips and two flathead screwdrivers provided, you might want to just grab your old set.
